Owen Pilgrim (Story Teller)

Owen Pilgrim - (Story Teller)

Owen Pilgrim is a storyteller and artist who tells stories from around the world; he delights in telling folktales, stories of the forest, and mythological tales. He sees stories as a way of understanding ourselves and our place in the world, while also being playful & creative. In his artwork he often draws on the images from stories to inform his work.

Claire Hewitt (Story Teller and Harpist)

As a Professional Storyteller the heart of my practice focus's on connecting communities through the Oral tradition of storytelling. With the support of Pitlochry local community, we created the Storytelling Yurt for the Enchanted Forest 13 years ago and have shared a story with over 20,000 people so far!

I have been involved in developing Story based educational/interpretive resources for Historic Scot-land,The Forestry Commission; RSGS ; Trees for Life; Silver Branch community storytelling Pro-ject; Plantlife Scotland; and therapeutic story work in hospices, hospitals and special schools; and Living Voices Project. I am presently working for PAMIS developing a Sensory Story Box for Peo-ple with profound and multiple learning disabilities.

Stories spellbind, enchant and take us on a magical journey together. Gathering families in the

Storytelling yurt and sharing a tale is for me one of the most wonderful things humans can do!

On Saturday 29th October, I will be sharing the Storytelling yurt with my Finnish Storyteller and Rune singer Anna-Maria Toivonen. Anna-Maria lives in Turku and has years of experience in her field and is a tradition bearer in Finland of their ancient culture. She and I have been collaborating on creative storytelling projects for over 6 years and have developed a unique multi lingual way of telling, weaving our two languages together in one story. We will be retelling a magical Finnish crea-tion tale in the yurt for this night only as part of the Scottish International Storytelling Festival 'Dare to Dream' programme.

Lindsey Gibb (Story Teller)

Lindsey Gibb grew up surrounded by stories, listening to them, reading them, making them up and weaving them into her various careers. By chance she found the traditional art of storytelling and is a founder member of Blether Tay-gither (Dundee) and Silver Branch (Highland Perthshire). She tells stories from around the world, many with an environmental or wildlife theme. She started telling professionally five years ago and is a specialist in Story Storming (making up stories with the audience). She has told to a wide range of audiences, uses storytelling in business, runs workshops and events and provides coaching.

Scottish Crannog Centre

The Scottish Crannog Centre features a unique reconstruction of an early Iron Age loch-dwelling, built by the Scottish Trust for Underwater Archaeology. This authentic recreation is based on excavation evidence from the 2,500 year old site of 'Oakbank Crannog', one of the 18 crannogs preserved in Loch Tay, Scotland.

A visit to the Centre includes a self-guided exhibition, a guided crannog tour, and 'hands-on' ancient crafts and technology demonstrations, there is also a themed gift shop. Special events run regularly featuring many specialists who, together with our own team of Iron Age Guides, actively bring the past to life.

Come to the Scottish Crannog Centre in ‘guise to celebrate Samhain, the Celtic festival marking the end of the harvest and beginning of the darker half of the year - and the predecessor of Halloween. Flaming torches, bonfires, storytelling and much more. Booking essential.

Dragonfly Yurts

Peaceful, magical and truly at one with nature. This is the vision that Perthshire man Dave Walker has conjured up in his imagination and then dutifully crafted using his new-found skills, the trees from the land around him and equal measures of both patience and passion. Each of his yurts are created entirely by his hand.

Inspired by his wife Jennie to try a Yurt-making workshop with the aim of building one for her 50th birthday, DIY enthusiast Dave discovered an altogether more creative side to his practical talents and as his passion grew, so do did his determination to make more of it. He left his job as a paramedic of 20 years to follow his passion and now builds yurts and rents them out for events, accommodation, etc.

A trip to Dave’s exquisite yurt is an absolute must at this year’s Enchanted Forest. Pull up a hay bale, relax and listen to one of our storytellers regale you with a tale of the forest!
